HANDICAPS
Midshires Handicapping system.
Official handicaps will reflect the difficulty of the course being played
by using the WHS (World Handicapping system).
Basically, if we play on an easier course, your handicap will come down for that event.
If we play on a harder course it will go up.
Handicap cuts:
Handicap cuts for prize winners will remain the same as they are now.
1st = a cut of 15%. 2nd = a cut of 10%. 3rd = cut of 5%.
Should an event have 40 or more competitors,
1st = a cut of 20%. 2nd = a cut of 15%. 3rd = cut of 10%. 4th = 5%.
Playing to your handicap should produce a score of 36 pts.
Therefore, anybody scoring more than 36pts will receive a cut as follows.
1 shot for every point above 36, less how many other players exceed 36.
Other than the players receiving individual prize money,
players who score within 6 pts of the winning score will receive no handicap adjustment.
Players who score fewer than 36pts or finish more than 7pts behind the winner,
whichever is the lowest figure, will receive an increase in their handicap.
The amount will be dependent on
a) Their Handicap
b) Balancing the number of cuts with increases.
Players must finish all 18 holes in order for any handicap changes to be made.
